Greetings for the new school year!

The 5th grade had a great first week! As part of our Welcome UBD we learned about Roy Lichtenstein's graphic portraits. Here are some photos of our work.

We also made nitrogen ice cream with Chris Pieper! Yum!

Chris is a great storyteller too!

End of the Year Camping Trip a Great Success!

Last week the 5th graders went to Abiquiu Lake and the Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center. We kayaked(thanks to Moss Joseph), and swam at the lake and then went to The Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center to camp and hike. We were able to see the coelophysis remains up close and then we hiked to where it was excavated out of the hillside. Thank you to all the parents who came along and helped out. It was a great ending to a wonderful school year! Thank you all!

TISA 5th graders  Learn About the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People From Taos Charter 6th Graders

Recently, the 5th graders worked with Taos Charter School's 6th grade class to learn about the seven habits of highly effective people. They listened to presentations by the 6th graders and then worked in small groups to learn about one habit and make a presentation poster. We then presented these to the third grade and helped them to make posters which were presented to the second grade.

We also went to Tent Rocks with Taos Charter 6th grade. It was a great trip!
