TISA 5th graders  Learn About the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People From Taos Charter 6th Graders

Recently, the 5th graders worked with Taos Charter School's 6th grade class to learn about the seven habits of highly effective people. They listened to presentations by the 6th graders and then worked in small groups to learn about one habit and make a presentation poster. We then presented these to the third grade and helped them to make posters which were presented to the second grade.

We also went to Tent Rocks with Taos Charter 6th grade. It was a great trip!

5th graders Learn CPR!

The 4th and 5th graders of TISA are participating in a swim and CPR program at the Youth and Family Center. TYFC partners with the town of Taos to bring these skills to the students of Taos County. It is our 2nd year participating. Thank you coach Alfredo!

5th graders had a marathon reading day on Thursday, March 5th in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Fiona Ratzlaff came and helped us build a Hindu altar during our ancient India studies.

Another visitor to our class was Alison Foley who helped us make chapatis and chai! Thanks Alison!

The 5th graders Deliver Catnip Mice to Appreciative Shelter Cats!

The 5th and 3rd graders at TISA made catnip mice for the shelter cats of Taos as their community service project on Martin Luther King Day. They delivered them last week and spent some quality time with the cats and dogs at the Taos Animal Shelter. It was great to see how the cats enjoyed their new toys!
