5th Graders Study Biomes in Class and out in the Wilderness!
Last week, 5th graders went camping at the Sangre de Cristo Youth Ranch on Lama Mountain. They camped under the stars, roasted marshmallows, shared stories and sang songs next to a campfire and hiked through meadows to the high country. In class, we have been studying biomes of the earth. Groups will present the results of their research this week. They were assigned to make a brochure which will teach their fellow students about their biome, including animals, plants, environmental features and weather. We also started working with gardener Nikki Cain. The 5th graders planted 4 apricot trees on Thursday. Check out our photos of our activities.
