TISA 5th graders enjoy the outdoors!

The 5th graders camped out last week at the Sangre de Cristo Youth Ranch  and had a great time! We hiked to the Aspen grove above John Wilson's house and gathered plants. We came back to the classroom and learned their latin names and medicinal uses. We look forward to another trip in May! Thank you to all the parents who participated and those who attended the trip!

Welcome to the Life of Five!
The 5th grade has been working really hard these last few weeks and their work shows it! We have begun our study of botany, beginning with a diagram of the fully developed plant and moving on to the lower plants. Take a look at some of their work!

The 5th grade has also created self portraits using the Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein's approach. Take a look at their amazing work!

Our student of the month candidates are Amelia Martinez and Avery Bell. Congratulations to you both! Everyone agreed that these two students represent the 5th grade TISA student!
